In July 2013, Steloy delivered four stainless steel rotating grate castings from energy and chemicals group, Sasol. Steloy was awarded the contract by MTP after working with them on a similar project utilising Lurgi FBDB gasification technology to produce direct reduced iron in an Indian steel making plant.

Localisation of the Valves Industry

Valve manufacturers in South Africa have recently received a much needed boost in local industry. On 3 March 2014, an Instruction Notice for the designation of the local valves came into effect. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), along with the Valve and Actuator Manufacturers Cluster of South Africa (VAMCOSA), have stipulated that government-owned companies aren’t allowed to import valves without giving local manufacturers the chance to quote.

Steloy Gears Up for Increased Valve Casting Demand
