Steloy Gears Up for Increased Valve Casting Demand

Steloy Castings has recently invested more than R1 million in new facilities and technologies to meet the increased demand for valves and valve casting components as a result of government’s valve and actuator designation policy for local procurement which requires that 70% of the valves supplied in Africa are locally produced.

In order to meet the projected 15% growth in the valve casting sector, Steloy has acquired new machinery and equipment that will enable the production of higher volume components. This includes the installation of a new cold box core-making machine which was installed at our Tungsten Street facility in Bronkhorstspruit as well as shell facilities, CNC pattern-making facility, and x-ray and inspection facilities.

This investment will not only boost manufacturing capabilities as well as our capacity to produce moulds and cores to various sizes, but also ensure that the quality of all of our castings is maintained to the highest standards.
